From 8c32bbbf9fab115dc51afa17c081e0763cbee717 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Craig Jennings Date: Tue, 2 Jun 2026 12:16:38 -0500 Subject: refactor: drop in-repo dotfiles/, move stow tooling to the dotfiles repo Since the installer clones DOTFILES_REPO into ~/.dotfiles and stows from there, the in-repo dotfiles/ tree was dead weight. Nothing reads it at install time. I removed it (831 files) now that both machines are migrated. The Makefile's stow / restow / reset / unstow / import targets and the dotfile-script unit suites moved to the dotfiles repo. They sit alongside the scripts they manage and run standalone (cd ~/.dotfiles && make ...). This Makefile keeps the VM-integration targets and the installer-helper suite (safe-rm-rf). I updated CLAUDE.md and README.md so stow operations run from ~/.dotfiles, and the dotfile-management, theme, and unit-test sections point at the standalone repo. The README was already describing the old in-repo model from before the installer switched to cloning. This brings it in line. --- dotfiles/common/.local/bin/any2flac | 44 ------------------------------------- 1 file changed, 44 deletions(-) delete mode 100755 dotfiles/common/.local/bin/any2flac (limited to 'dotfiles/common/.local/bin/any2flac') diff --git a/dotfiles/common/.local/bin/any2flac b/dotfiles/common/.local/bin/any2flac deleted file mode 100755 index c2cc0a7..0000000 --- a/dotfiles/common/.local/bin/any2flac +++ /dev/null @@ -1,44 +0,0 @@ -#!/usr/bin/env bash -# Craig Jennings - - -function print_help { - echo "Converts an audio or video to flac audio and removes all metadata tags." - echo "This script requires ffmpeg and metaflac."; echo "" - echo "Usage: any2flac [filename]" - echo "Parameter: filename - name of the file to convert." -} - -# Check for help argument -if [ "$1" == "-h" ] || [ "$1" == "--help" ]; then - print_help - exit 0 -fi - -# Check if filename is passed -if [ $# -eq 0 ]; then - echo "Must name an audio file to convert.
