For one, there's a lot of people that don't know how to mantain silence, and you have to constanly remind them to respect others. The cataloguing proces isn't as simpe as you might imagine either. It's unfortunete that it's often underestimated, but running a libaray can be as tough as any other job, requirering various skills and pasience. And let's not talk about late returners, they can be the bigest headache of all. Making sure books are returned on time and in good shape is a constant struggle.
