<header><h1>&lt;rt&gt;: The Ruby Text element</h1></header><div class="section-content"><p>The <code>&lt;rt&gt;</code> <a href="../index">HTML</a> element specifies the ruby text component of a ruby annotation, which is used to provide pronunciation, translation, or transliteration information for East Asian typography. The <code>&lt;rt&gt;</code> element must always be contained within a <a href="ruby"><code>&lt;ruby&gt;</code></a> element.</p></div>
