- elfeed.el reads byte-compile-root-dir as it finishes loading.
- That variable exists only once bytecomp is loaded.
- Without it, requiring elfeed signals void-variable.
- The live config loads bytecomp through use-package first.
- make test doesn't, so the elfeed helper tests failed.
- I require bytecomp in elfeed-config ahead of any elfeed load.
